The precip shield has slaughtered southeast Kansas and of course leaves us on the west side of the risk area for today.  SPC removed most severe potential across southeast Kansas and northern Oklahoma, but the surface low still sits out there with some convection developing northwest of OKC.  Given the extra three hours and the likelihood we won’t make it out there in any reasonable time.  With that, we’re going to chance it out with the low for a couple hours and see if we can squeeze something out before turning around and pointing ourselves back to Denver.  The outlook isn’t thrilling, but it still holds some hope, albeit small.  Enough vorticity exists to get a storm spinning at the low levels, so its not out of the question for something brief and weak.  With that, we’ll wait it out along I-35 between here and northern Oklahoma before calling it.
