I am absolutely in LOVE with South Dakota right now... today amplified that in a big way. I am obsessed with wolves... ask anyone. Half my office is wolves. Needless to say, when I snapped away over 100 pictures at a wildlife refuge here in South Dakota, I was in complete heaven. Half a dozen Arctic Wolves appeared in view as we crested a hill and hung around for quite some time, some coming as close as a few feet from my van. I was stopped on the side of the road and snapped more pictures than I could possibly count. It was amazing! I was shooting on my 70-300mm telephoto and was using it on 70mm half the time! Here is a tiny fraction of the pictures I shot...

On the way out to Montana, I'm hopeful to see a few more of these beautiful creatures earlier in the day when they may be more active. The plan for tomorrow is to head up through southwest North Dakota and into eastern Montana for what will likely be the final chance to chase this trip. I intend to be back in Denver by Sunday evening. More later; in the meantime, enjoy the shots. I was almost beside myself!!
